Yuri Goloubev (bass) graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory in 1995. Winning the All Soviet Union Student Competition in 1990 led him to his first engagement as principal bass with the Ensemble XXI Chamber Orchestra in Moscow. In 1992 he became principal bass of the Moscow Soloists Chamber Orchestra, and in 2002 was awarded the prestigious title of Honored Artist of Russia by President Putin. As a classical and jazz musician, Mr. Goloubev has collaborated with the world’s greatest artists appearing in concerts halls worldwide. His playing is featured on over 80 albums, and he currently records for the ACT and Universal labels as a jazz bass player and composer.
