ESTHER GARCÍA

Born in Madrid (Spain), in 1988. She began her cello studies at the age of 7 with Fanica Sandú, and then she continued studying in Madrid with Jose Miguel Gómez Díaz in the conservatory “Joaquin Turina”. In 2005 she was admitted in the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid getting the first position in the entrance examination. She finished her Bachelor with Iagoba Fanlo. Afterwards she moved to Utrecht (Holland) to broaden her studies doing a Master, in the “Hogeschool van de Kunsten” in Utrecht, with the teachers Martijn Vink and Timora Rosler.

She has participated in diferent summer courses with teachers like Marius Diaz, Paulo Gaio, Asier Polo, David Apellániz, Michail Dmochovsky and Leonid Gorokhov, and she has received masterclasses by Stefan Popov, Christopher Coin, Jens Peter Mainz, Dimitri Ferchtman, Steven Isserlis and Gary Hoffman.
She had taken part of the Comunidad de Madrid Youth Orchestra (JOCMA), Iberoamerican Youth Orquestra (OJI) and the Spanish National Youth Orchestra (JONDE). Now she regularly participates in the Verum Symphony Orchestra and the Opus 23 Orchestra.

She has worked with some prestigious conductors like A. Ros Marbá, Pablo Gonzalez, Miguel Romea, Yuri Nasuskin, Reinbert de Leeuw, Lütz Kholer, Christian Zacarías and Gustavo Dudamel.
In the last years she has been awarded with scholarships by JONDE (Spanish National Youth Orchestra), Comunidad de Madrid and Cuidad de Alcobendas Fundation.
She has a cello, made by Hendrik Woldring (2006) in Groningen on loan from the colletction of The Dutch Musical Instruments Foundation.
