Who is Andreu Soler really? What is “his voice”, his sound? How does his energy “sound”, what does he carry inside?
After fifteen years of career, I have dared to record Andreu. This is how I express myself, this is my own voice. This is my sound and my energy. This is how I sound.
In the sound of this CD is the essence of who I am, my vital energy. A sound forged during many conversations with the piano, hours of solitude and many life experiences. A search for myself, for who I am, for how I see the world and life, and that I finally dare to tell in the way I express myself best: through a piano.
Each and every one of the pieces on this album has accompanied me throughout my life in one way or another and has shaped me as a person and as an artist. I have made them my own: elaborating and adapting here, shortening and improvising there, until the result that we can hear on this CD. There are pieces with Latin American rhythms, of which I am a fervent admirer (Lágrimas Negras, Alfonsina y el Mar, La cumparsita…); African music (África); music composed by me (Tango para Gabriela, Al aire de Zarzuela, Djelem). Also “classical” music, music that I love deeply. A varied, rich album, with music that speaks of people, of life, of the diverse world in which we live.
